RMP’s, New Projects and the Future!
The summer seems to have flown over, or at least what little summer we have had in the UK. Overall it’s been a pretty successful month or so, has August. I managed to finally get around to launching Mobile Betting Guide and even received my first Real Money Player through the doors which I am extremely happy with. To get even one so soon is a pretty big thing for me, and it certainly gives me the motivation to carry on. I don’t feel as happy as I thought I would however. I think once I get to maybe 10 or 20 players (hopefully in the not so distant future) then it will seem real. Just the one player could be a bit of a fluke, so I’m pretty wary of that. On the whole, I’m delighted though.
I’ve decided that each month I’m going to look to launch a new mini niche site. These will be pretty much completely outsourced, the content will be anyway and are just sites to get up, live, get traffic coming through and then leaving to grow with AdSense. Once they are live I’ll not have a lot to do with them for the first few months. I’m hoping that over the course of a year I’ll get a look to see what works and what doesn’t in the world of AdSense, and I think these little sites are a relatively cheap and hopefully profitable way of doing so. The first one should be live in the next week or two so I will report back here upon completion.
I do realise that the time invested into these mini sites shouldn’t take up too much of my time. I’m not looking for massive revenue from them, but if I can build a comprehensive network of sites all bringing in a little revenue each a month then it will leave me nicely spread should anything go drastically wrong with our friend, Mr.Google. I’m a person who likes change and new challenges, so I’m hoping this will keep everything nice and fresh whilst I concentrate on bigger sites such as Mobile Betting Guide. Either that or it’s going to be a really expensive way to keep me from getting bored!
In hopefully the not too distant future, a friend and I may be setting up a betting tips site. It’s still very early days and we are seeing if the venture is viable and profitable, but hopefully we can give it a run as I think it has massive potential and we will be applying concepts neither of us have used before in any of our sites. I’ll tell you more, when I know more.
As I mentioned August was a good month. The old bank account ticked over but I spent record amounts (for me) on outsourced work. This is something I am more than happy to do as it means whilst I am writing content for my clients, a percentage of that money is getting re-invested for my sites. Ideally all the content I write would be exclusively for my site, and it can be frustrating handing some of it over as sometimes I think, yeah that could work nicely or I wonder how many sign ups this page will get etc. It’s a short term fix for a long term project though so I’ll just keep plodding on until I can afford to knock it on the head completely.
September Goals
Generally I’m not the best at sticking to goals, but more often than not its because I get carried away and set lines which I simply cannot meet. So, here it goes…
- Add minimum of 20 pages to Mobile Betting Guide
- Double my RMP’s on MBG (to 2!)
- Launch new niche site
- Work on marketing for MBG
- Stay busy with content writing for the whole month
- Have a few days off
The last one I added because looking back I never really have a day off. There’s seldom a time that I’m in the house and not working. Even when I am out I am always checking up on things on my phone or whatever. Even if I’m out for the day playing cricket, I’ll be on my computer in the morning and then when I get back to clear up some lose ends. I read a good article about taking time off the other day, although I cant find the link, and I need to set my ‘downtime’ accordingly. Too many times I say oh I’m not going to work tonight and end up still pottering on with the PC without achieving anything. No work and no rest. So yeah, going to set aside a few proper days off.
Well I think that’s pretty much it for now. Will report back when I get my first niche site finished and uploaded.
